HTC Proto might join the One series in fall, a better One V with 4-inch display and Snapdragon S4

HTC Proto might join the One series in fall, a better One V with 4-inch display and Snapdragon S4:

With the original One series failing to shake off HTC’s run of bad financial luck, it’s high time for the Taiwanese to start adding some new blood to their lineup. We reported before about the supposed arrival of HTC One X+, which should boast superior specs to its predecessor, including a NVIDIA Tegra 3+
processor. Now we’re hearing there’s a sequel in the works for the HTC One V, tentatively named as HTC Proto.
The Verge got the first scoop on the HTC Proto and its improved specs over the One V. It’s rumored to come with a dual-core Snapdragon S4 MSM8225 processor, which is clocked at a lower 1GHz speed, and a 4-inch SLCD display with the same WVGA resolution. The rest of the rumored specs include 4GB of internal storage, 512MB RAM, a 5MP rear camera, the standard Beats Audio enhancement, and HSPA+ radio.
While the HTC One V was praised for its display and design, the single-core chip found on the phone is pretty outdated.  It’ll be great to see a refreshed model with a bumped up processor speed and the extra screen real estate.
Aside from several low- to mid-range phones that HTC has released in the past weeks, we have yet to see any lust-worthy models that the phone maker has to offer for the second half of the year. The rumored Proto and the One X+ should make a good start.
Interested about the HTC Proto?  If the gossip is accurate, we could be seeing the phone touching down in fall. In the mean time, anything else you’d like HTC to add to the phone? Please leave your comments below.
