review because this universal dock adapter did not work for his 1st gen
iPhone dock, or that was my understanding of the review. Also noted was
that the reviewer held a degree in mechanical engineering and opened up
the possibility of this adapter being designed for a different dock.
The new iPhone 3G is slightly bigger than the first generation. Not by much, but to hold the 3G and GPS radios, as well as a larger battery to power these, it needed to be. So, being someone with a degree, you should understand that there is not way the iPhone 3G will fit in the dock if you make it smaller. For that, you need to make it larger, as many have done with a dremel or sandpaper.
