Chitika web analytics: Samsung Galaxy S3 increases share of online traffic

Chitika web analytics: Samsung Galaxy S3 increases share of online traffic:

Samsung’s current flagship Android smartphone is the Galaxy S3 and it is performing rather well for them. Analytics company, Chitika, just released some statistics showing the swift growth in the Galaxy S3’s mobile Web traffic share. The device now accounts for 11.23 percent of all Samsung smartphone Web usage.
Considering it only launched in the UK on May 29, and was released in various other markets around the world in the weeks that followed, you can get some idea of how fast the device is selling.
Samsung sold over 10 million Galaxy S3 units in the first couple of months after the end of May release and it is expected to sell over 40 million units by the end of the year. The popular S3 has helped Samsung smartphone sales eclipse Apple iPhone sales in Q2 of 2012 – over 50 million compared to 30.5 million for Apple.
Despite the strong Samsung sales, Apple has a commanding lead when it comes to mobile Web usage. Chitika also revealed that Samsung smartphones account for 0.24 impressions per 1 iPhone impression in the U.S. and Canada.
As a single device, the Galaxy S3 looks like the first Android candidate that can really compete with the iPhone. There’s no doubt it is the best smartphone on the market right now. Take a look at our Samsung Galaxy S3 review and Galaxy S3 vs iPhone 4S comparison for more on that.
The big question that’s looming on the horizon is whether the Galaxy S3 can stand up to the iPhone 5, which is due to be released in the near future. With the Apple vs Samsung trial as a backdrop, and the hotly anticipated iPhone 5 on the way, Samsung definitely has its work cut out.
